Why GCIS?
The Past
In 1987, Joni Kelton started Column Group Design in Houston, Texas, after several successful years as a budding entrepreneur/consultant. Most notable and treasured is the Apple Certified Consultant designation, awarded in 1991. While Column Group Design served clients for design, print, and publishing consulting, it was necessary to create a spin-off company to support the clients’ new focus: the internet. GCIS was formed to give clients hands-on, face-to-face support getting their business on the web.
The Present
Currently, GCIS is located in Baytown, Texas, just east of Houston. Our offices are equipped with 24″ Imacs, and we let a PC live here just for spite. The offices are set up for new media production, complete with Alesis and MXL sound recording equipment, a full video editing suite, and the ability to do all types of new media production.
The Future
While the future can be difficult to predict, we will continue to be hands-on, one-on-one with our clients and our community around Houston and Texas. Pet projects in the works are small business consulting, a weekly radio show featuring Gulf Coast area businesses, and expansion of staff and team members. And a vacation.
